Resonance : Guidelines to Superintelligent Artificial Intelligence - Paperback Cognitive Psychology

Resonance attempts to answer every question related to interactions, life, the mechanics of consciousness, faith, origins, and all of reality.

Resonance is a book that details Princess Amber's Q-Resonance which is an attempt to build a comprehensive (and as accurate as possible) model of every form of Interaction in the universe, life, the mechanics of consciousness, faith, and basically everything involving the comprehension of all of reality in general.

Exploring the direction of time (irreversible changes) can help build a model of interaction that is based on nature for friendly Artificial Intelligence. By building a model of interaction based on nature, there can be AI that is close to humans.

Everything in the universe have consistent rules of interaction (rules of interaction that do not differentiate between living and non-living things). Resonance attempts to build a model of those rules of interaction (this includes detailing why people do the things they do, why anything happens in the universe at all, and if those things can also be applied to Artificial Intelligence and also help find a safe path to living with advancing technologies).

Resonance also attempts to model the points between living and non-living and what makes something conscious. Consciousness is possibly simply the manifestation of the ability for any forms of matter and/or energy to calculate and process the most optimal form of actions for Information Redistribution (a concept that is detailed in the book). Knowing that, a consistent model of interaction can be built for everything in the universe.

Instincts and emotions are the calculations themselves, and consciousness is simply the manifestation of those calculations. Identity associated with that consciousness is also another topic Resonance will explore.

Finally, what is faith? Resonance also explores the reasons for (and importance of) faith. The preview (look inside feature; kindle preview) of the book features the majority of systems Resonance works with.

Through exploring the nature of the universe, we can find a safe path towards the future for everyone and everything.

An Optimist's Tour of the Future by Mark Stevenson - Hardcover Nonfiction

An Optimist's Tour of the Future : One Curious Man Sets Out to Answer "What's Next?" by Mark Stevenson

In the tradition of Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything, a smart and entertaining guide to the future of civilization

When unexpectedly confronted with his own mortality, Mark Stevenson-a writer, deep-thinker, and stand-up comedian-began to ponder what the future holds for our species. "The past is a foreign country," writes Stevenson. "By my analysis it's a bit like France-in that I've been to parts of it and eaten some nice food there. But the future? The future is an unknown territory-and there isn't a guidebook." Thus, his ambition was born.

Stevenson set out simply, asking, "What's next?" and then traveled the globe in pursuit of the answers. Along the way, he visited the Australian outback to visit the farmers who can save us from climate change, met a robot with mood swings, and talked to the Spaniard who's putting a hotel in space. While some might be overwhelmed, or even dismayed by the looming realities of genome sequencing, synthetic biology, a nuclear renaissance, and carbon scrubbing, Stevenson remains, well, optimistic. Drawing on his singular humor and storytelling to break down these sometimes complicated discoveries, An Optimist's Tour of the Future paints a wonderfully readable, and completely enthralling portrait of where we'll be when we grow up- and why it's not so scary.

Essential Chinese Mythology by Martin Palmer & Zhao Xiaomin - Paperback USED

For Westerners, China still exudes a certain air of mystery: an enigmatic mixture of rich cultures and traditions. This fascinating volume is the only one of its kind to contain all the core myths of Chinese mythologies that have helped shape the Chinese psyche. The popular folk stories of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism are included here. They recount the earliest legends and creation myths and reveal a world of heroes, sage hermits, the secrets of immortality, the formation of dynasties, just teachers, dutiful sons and speaking animals. Some have been adapted to fit the politics and culture of the prevailing dynasties, but many remain remarkably untouched and still underlie the traditional religion of China today. All the stories provide profound insight into the development of Chinese culture, and into the differences and points of contact between Eastern and Western traditions.

Tears We Cannot Stop : A Sermon to White America by Michael Eric Dyson - Hardcover

NOW A NEW YORK TIMES, PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY, INDIEBOUND, LOS ANGELES TIMES, WASHINGTON POST, CHRONICLE HERALD, SALISBURY POST, GUELPH MERCURY TRIBUNE,AND BOSTON GLOBE BESTSELLER | NAMED A BEST/MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK OF 2017 BY: The Washington Post • Bustle • Men's Journal • The Chicago Reader • StarTribune • Blavity • The Guardian  NBC New York's Bill's Books • Kirkus • Essence

“One of the most frank and searing discussions on race ... a deeply serious, urgent book, which should take its place in the tradition of Baldwin's The Fire Next Time and King's Why We Can't Wait." ―The New York Times Book Review

Toni Morrison hails Tears We Cannot Stop as "Elegantly written and powerful in several areas: moving personal recollections; profound cultural analysis; and guidance for moral redemption. A work to relish."

Stephen King says: "Here’s a sermon that’s as fierce as it is lucid…If you’re black, you’ll feel a spark of recognition in every paragraph. If you’re white, Dyson tells you what you need to know―what this white man needed to know, at least. This is a major achievement. I read it and said amen."

Short, emotional, literary, powerful―Tears We Cannot Stop is the book that all Americans who care about the current and long-burning crisis in race relations will want to read.

As the country grapples with racist division at a level not seen since the 1960s, one man's voice soars above the rest with conviction and compassion. In his 2016 New York Times op-ed piece "Death in Black and White," Michael Eric Dyson moved a nation. Now he continues to speak out in Tears We Cannot Stop―a provocative and deeply personal call for change. Dyson argues that if we are to make real racial progress we must face difficult truths, including being honest about how black grievance has been ignored, dismissed, or discounted.

"The time is at hand for reckoning with the past, recognizing the truth of the present, and moving together to redeem the nation for our future. If we don't act now, if you don't address race immediately, there very well may be no future."

  • The Reckoning : What Blacks Owe to Each Other by Randall Robinson - Paperback

The Reckoning : What Blacks Owe to Each Other by Randall Robinson - Paperback

In The Reckoning, Randall Robinson examines the crime and poverty that grips much of urban America and urges black Americans to speak out and reach back to ensure their social and economic success in this country. With insight, compassion, and unflinching honesty, Robinson explores the twin blights of crime and poverty—the former often a symptom of the latter—and asks questions that are critical to the rebuilding of black communities: How do we create awareness of the heroic efforts already being made and how can we bring our troubled youth to safety?  A product of Robinson’s work with gang members, ex-convicts, and others who have been scarred by the harshness of life in our inner cities, The Reckoning is certain to be as important and controversial as his earlier books.

  • Make it Plain : Standing Up and Speaking Out by Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. - Paperback Oratory

Make it Plain : Standing Up and Speaking Out by Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. - Paperback Oratory

The long and storied career of Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. one of the nation's finest speakers, has carried him from work on the civil rights front lines in the South to the National Urban League to positions of influence at the highest level of business and politics. A friend and confidant to presidents, Vernon Jordan has never forgotten the men and women, from Wiley Branton to Martin Luther King, from Fannie Lou Hamer to Whitney Young to Primus King, whose oratorical skill in service to social justice deeply influenced him. Their examples, and voices, mixed with Vernon's own make this book both a history and an embodiment of black speech at its finest, full of emotion, controlled force, righteous indignation, love of country, and awe in front of the challenges ahead.

Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. is a senior managing director of Lazard Frères & Co. LLC in New York. He was previously president and chief executive officer of the National Urban League, executive director of the United Negro College Fund, Inc., and director of the Voter Education Project of the Southern Regional Council. • Explorations in Consciousness : A New Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences by Frederick Aardema

Explorations in Consciousness : A New Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences by Frederick Aardema

In Explorations in Consciousness, Frederick Aardema, a clinical researcher, provides a profound account of the out-of-body experience, covering some of the most mystifying aspects of this experience. Throughout the book, the author seamlessly weaves in his own travels into different fields of consciousness, including  experiences in the personal field, where he is confronted with the constructs of his own psyche, as well as visitations to collective and archetypal fields of consciousness that appear to have an independent existence beyond the eye of the beholder. Highly original and groundbreaking, Explorations in Consciousness presents a model of reality in which nothing can ever be taken for granted. It proposes that consciousness is embedded within a wider field of possibilities that become real depending on our interaction with the world around us, whether "in" or "out" of the body. Regardless of what you believe about the out-of-body state, this book will challenge and excite you to become an explorer of consciousness. It provides a powerful method to induce the OBE, as well as new tools on how to navigate the entire spectrum of consciousness yourself.

    From the Inside Flap

    * The Transition Process - A systematic account of the transition process leading into the out-of-body state.

    * Fields of Consciousness - A comprehensive overview of the different fields of consciousness that can be accessed in the out-of-body state.

    * A Model of Possibilities - A quantum view of reality with direct and practical implications.

    * Navigation in the Void - Accessible tools to effectively navigate consciousness by accessing nonlocal space in the out-of-body state.

    * The Vigil Method - A powerful six-step guide to moving beyond the physical body.

This is one of the best OBE books I've read in many years and I highly recommend it. It was thoroughly enjoyable. One of the reasons I liked it so much is just because of the author's approach. It really makes you think. Hard.
-- Robert Peterson, Author of Out of Body Experiences, Lessons Out of the Body and Answers Within

Explorations of Consciousness represents a new height, a new level in the serious intellectual study of altered states, and specifically the so-called "out of body experience." But it is not a dry and pedantic framework, but an exciting, living framework that has a lot to offer people of all levels of interest. If you want a book with sound methods for inducing an OBE, Fred's book has it. If you want a sophisticated critique of past workers in the area of out-of-body experiencing, lucid dreaming and astral projection, Fred's book has it. If you wish to learn cutting edge ideas about this experience, and how it ties to other areas of learning, ranging from psychology to physics, Fred's book has it. It sets a new standard of quality and intellectual sophistication. It serves as a great example. Needless to say, I recommend you read it!
-- Dr. Donald DeGracia, Associate Professor of Physiology, Wayne State University, Author of Do-OBE and Beyond the Physical

With his careful, detailed scientific consideration of the phenomena, Frederick pulls OBEs out from the smoke screen of flimflammery to present them transparently as a comprehensible human experience - in particular, an experience potentially attainable by all.
-- Dr. Kieron O'Connor, Research Professor of Clinical Psychology, University of Montreal, Canada

This book has moved the OBE ball down the field farther than anything since Robert Monroe in the 70's and 80's. The greatest contribution here is the way the author looks at the OBE. While rejecting neural reductionism, he also rejects all forms of geographical or 'travel' analogies. Consciousness is nowhere and can never be anywhere. All the apparent 'travel' to this or that world or zone of experience is a phase shift of eternally stationary consciousness. Check it out, finally somebody with a brain has probed into this deeply. It's the best thing in decades on the OBE.
-- Scott Meredith, Author of Juice: Radical Taiji Energetics

I am blown away. Frederick Aardema has written the master textbook of OBEs how it should be taught in schools. To my mind it will rank as one of the future classics of OBE literature and should be required and essential reading for all OBE investigators.
-- Jurgen Ziewe, Author of Multidimensional Man

Aardema's theory and practice of the OBE deserve careful consideration--his book is bound to become one of the classic texts on the subject.
-- Mathew Fike, Professor of English at Winthrop University

Optimistic and challenging, thought-provoking and engaging, The Age of Spiritual Machines is the ultimate guide on our road into the next century.
