About the Author

During a three-month trip across India in 2005, Margot Bigg became mesmerized by the sheer diversity of the world's largest democracy, and decided to make it her home. A year later, she was living in Gurgaon, near Delhi, where she worked for a consultancy before joining the staff of Time Out Delhi and turning to journalism full time. She has since written for publications in India and abroad, including Rolling Stone, Outlook Traveller, The Caravan, Courrier International, and The Oregonian.

Margot's interest in other cultures started from an early age: Her best friends as a toddler were from Japan, Iran, and Jordan, and her baby talk was mixed with Japanese, Farsi, and Arabic (all of which she has since forgotten). She's a dual national of the US and the UK, and spent her formative years living in Portland, Oregon, and Farnham, Surrey, in England. She also lived in Paris for three years before moving to India. Patrick Hurley was born in Spokane, Washington in 1942. About the Author

Brontez Purnell has been publishing, performing, and curating in the Bay Area for over ten years. He is author of the cult zine Fag School, frontman for his band The Younger Lovers, and founder and choreographer of the Brontez Purnell Dance Company. Formerly a dancer with Gravy Train!!!, a queer electro indie band that gained national prominence in the mid-2000s, Purnell's other prominent artistic collaborations include his supporting role in the queer independent feature film, "I Want Your Love" (Dir. He finished medical school, met his soul mate, and watched his beloved funkytown of Lahore transform with the rest of Pakistan under the rule of Zia into a fundamentalist dictatorship: morality police arrested couples holding hands in public, Little House on the Prairie and Live Aid were banned from television broadcasts, and Kalashnikovs and rocket launchers proliferated on college campuses via the Afghani resistance to Soviet occupation in the north.
