The Calcium Bomb : The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer by Douglas Mulhall & Katja Hansen - Hardcover
IF YOU HAVE HEART DISEASE, ARTHRITIS, or CANCER, you've probably got calcification—one of the most widespread harmful conditions in existence, and found with diseases like osteoporosis and Alzheimers. Doctors have long known that something in our body misuses calcium to make us sick; they just haven't known why, or how to treat it. Until now.
If you've never heard of calcification or don't know what it does, you'll find crucial answers in The Calcium Bomb, including medical science's recent discovery of a particle—a nanobacterium so small it challenges the very definition of life—that makes otherwise good calcium go bad, and which has also been discovered in other incurable diseases. Until recently scientists didnÂ’t know that it existed or what it did. But now they are beginning to understand what it is… and how to treat it.
IF YOU'RE YOUNG AND HEALTHY, your own Calcium Bomb may already be ticking. The Leading Causes of Death list is intimately linked to calcification-associated illnesses like heart disease—and the U.S. Surgeon General estimates that getting rid of heart disease alone would increase the average lifespan by five years.
THE GOOD NEWS: Many patients are improving with new treatment aimed at heart disease calcification. Will it work for arthritis, injuries, and some cancers where the time bomb also lurks? In easy-to-understand terms, this book explores the hotly contested evidence.

Calcification : The Phosphate Theory in Aging and Disease by Mark Mayer - Paperback
As we age, calcium deposits tend to accumulate in our soft tissues. Doctors call it "Extra-skeletal calcification." This means that the calcium that is supposed to be deposited in your bones is being lodged in your soft tissues where is does not belong. The condition can manifest itself in many ways: Heart disease, cancer, wrinkled skin, arthritis, kidney stones, osteoporosis, dental problems, bone spurs, senility, cataracts and many other health problems. Fortunately, there are many proven techniques to combat soft-tissue calcification. By making a few simple changes in your diet and lifestyle, you can prevent and reverse what is commonly called the calcium bomb. Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox : How a Little-Known Vitamin Could Save Your Life by Kate Rheaume-Bleue - Paperback
The secret to avoiding calcium-related osteoporosis and atherosclerosis
While millions of people take calcium and Vitamin D supplements thinking they're helping their bones, the truth is, without the addition of Vitamin K2, such a health regimen could prove dangerous. Without Vitamin K2, the body cannot direct calcium to the bones where it's needed; instead, the calcium resides in soft tissue (like the arteries)--leading to a combination of osteoporosis and atherosclerosis, or the dreaded "calcium paradox." This is the first book to reveal how universal a Vitamin K2 deficiency is, and the risk (in the form of cancer and diabetes, among other ailments) the absence of Vitamin K2 poses.
Written by Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue, a popular health expert on Canadian television and radio, "Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox" sounds a warning about the popularity of the calcium and Vitamin D craze, while illustrating the enormous health benefits of Vitamin K2 in making the body less susceptible to dental cavities, heart disease, prostate cancer, liver cancer, diabetes, wrinkles, obesity, varicose veins, and other ailments. The book demystifies this obscure supernutrient--a fat soluble vitamin that humans once thrived on, ignored by scientists for almost seventy years.
- Details how the consumption of grass-fed animals led to adequate Vitamin K2 intake--while grain-based animal feed helped eradicate Vitamin K2 from our diets.
- Describes how doctors are raising recommended doses of calcium and Vitamin D--without prescribing Vitamin K2.
- Details more damning facts about transfats--and how the creation of a synthetic Vitamin K interfered with the body's Vitamin K metabolism
An essential book for anyone interested in bone health, or maintaining their overall health, Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox is the guide to taking the right combination of supplements--and adding Vitamin K2 to a daily regimen.

Religion is a core component of this book, which can be used by individuals and by congregations around which to base health ministry programs and health care discussions.
The Author believes that we don't need to spend more dollars on health care and medicine; what we need to do is 1) think more about our bodies and our health each day, 2) adopt life styles that promote health and not disease, and 3) be prudent shoppers when it comes to selecting a physician, a hospital or an insurance company.
There is no magic pill for youth, longevity, or a disease-free life. There is a prescription, however, that, if followed, can enhance the quality of your life and add years to your life. The TIPS found in this book are part of the prescription; regular church attendance and a positive outlook on life is another part.

The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution : A Proven 4-Week Program to Rescue Your Metabolism, Hormones, Mind & Mood by Aviva Romm - Hardcover
A Yale-trained, board-certified family physician with a specialty in women's health and obstetrics delivers a proven 28-day program to heal the overwhelmed, overloaded systems, and prevent and reverse the myriad of symptoms affecting the vast majority of women today.
Weight gain, fatigue, brain fog, hormonal imbalances, and autoimmune conditions—for years, health practitioners have commonly viewed each as individual health problems resulting from a patient’s genetic bad luck, poor lifestyle choices, or lack of willpower. Patients, too, have turned to different doctors to alleviate their specific symptoms: an endocrinologist for a thyroid problem; a gynecologist for hormonal issues; an internist for weight, diabetes, and high blood pressure; a rheumatologist for joint problems, and even to therapists or psychologists.
While these ailments may seem unrelated, Dr. Aviva Romm contends that they are intrinsically connected by what she calls Survival Overdrive Syndrome, a condition that occurs when the body becomes overloaded. SOS can result from childhood survival patterns or adult life stressors that are compounded by foods we eat, toxins in our environment, viral infections, lack of sleep, disrupted gut microflora, and even prescribed medications.
Two of the systems most affected are the adrenal system and the thyroid, which control mood, hormones, inflammation, immunity, energy, weight, will power, blood sugar balance, cholesterol, sleep, and a host of other bodily functions. When these systems become overwhelmed they lead to symptoms that can develop into full blow illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, and heart disease—all of which have medically provable origins in SOS.
The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution explains SOS, how it impacts our bodies and can lead to illness, and most importantly, offers a drug-free cure developed through Dr. Romm’s research and clinical work with tens of thousands of patients. In as little as two weeks, you can lose excess weight, discover increased energy, improve sleep, and feel better. With The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution, you can rescue your metabolism, hormones, mind and mood—and achieve long-lasting health.

Cleveland Clinic Heart Book - Hardcover Cardiac Health
Only 1 left in stockThe Cleveland Clinic Heart Book provides a modern view of heart health care for all ages, including invaluable information on numerous diseases and conditions along with their diagnoses; plus current standards of practice as well as up-to-the-minute surgical procedures. The Cleveland Clinic Heart Book has heart health tips for the entire family.
From Library Journal
The top two cardiac units in the country duke it out on the bookshelves with these consumer health titles. The Mayo Clinic has revised its 1993 guide to heart disease, including updated statistics and some new information, particularly on nutrition (butter vs. margarine, phen-fen, the need to eat more soy), but most of the information is essentially the same as in the first edition. There's nothing in here that you haven't seen in countless other health books, but it is presented well, and the explanations of different types of heart surgery are top-rate. The Cleveland Clinic Heart Book is also a compilation effort by various staff members. Quite similar to the Mayo book, it, too, includes chapters on how the heart works, different types of heart disease, and heart-healthy living. It contains a nice section on medications, including generic and brand names, their uses, and side effects--but then, so does the Mayo book. Both books also have sections on emergencies and CPR, but don't look for alternative therapies. It's hard to imagine two books that are more similar. Basically, they cover exactly the same subject and do it well. Normally, you would only need one or the other, and if you have to choose one, take the Mayo book for its nicer layout and prettier pictures. But most libraries will want both to meet patron requests. As reputable sources of information on standard medical treatment, these two books can't be beat.
