Fr. Richard Beyer (1949 -) grew up in the Midwest and was ordained a Catholic priest in 1981. After hearing of the apparitions of Mary in Medjugorje, Bosnia, he traveled to the Balkins in 1987 to investigate the phenomena. Convinced of the authenticity of the apparitions, he led many pilgrimages groups to the site and wrote his first book to meet the need of those pilgrims who wanted to 'take Medjugorje home with them.'
